The Emergency Management Division will be testing 38 warning sirens located across Washtenaw County at Noon the first Saturday of every month through September. If there is a threat of severe weather on July 5, this test will be cancelled.

Faith in Action will have a career advisor available every Tuesday from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at 603 S. Main Street in Chelsea, to help with resume writing, job searching, career research and talent evaluation. This service is open to anyone who could use help with employment issues. A Michigan Works! "Nature Fun Thursdays-Stories and an ABC Hike" will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for children ages three and older at Independence Lake, 3200 Jennings Rd., in Webster Township. The program will include fun nature stories and then a hike to look for things from ants to yellow flowers. Insect repellent recommended. Participants will meet at the Beach Center. The program is free, but a park entry fee is required.

Waterloo
The Waterloo Area Historical Society's Farm Museum will be open to the public for guided tours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. July 4, 5 and 6. Costumed guides give tours of the historic ten-room farmhouse and outbuildings on the grounds. Weekends often find the blacksmith toiling away in his workshop. The Museum's Gift Shop is open during regular tour hours.
Formed in 1962, the mission of the Waterloo Area Historical Society is "to foster an understanding and appreciation in children and adults of the pioneer farmers of Michigan, their family life and their children's schooling."
